5 Ways to Avoid Carbs

Why are Carbs so Delicious?

Due to my dad’s recent Paleo rage, I now know more than I ever wanted to know about carbs. They increase cholesterol, they damage your digestive system, and they promote weight gain along with diseases šŸ™ Stupid carbs! If you weren’t so damn delicious everyone would be healthier! But anyways, lowering your intake of grains and refined carbohydrates can make a world of a difference in your health.

5 Easy Ways to Cut Down on Carbs

Now, in order for this to be easy you have to make an effort…be conscious of what you put in your body and you’ll be thanking yourself in the long run. Ready health nuts?

1. Replace regular flour with almond flour

Almond flour gives your favorite baked treats the texture and fluffiness you love and it’s much nicer to your body. Check out a ton of almond flour recipes HERE.

2. Trade in the cereals and waffles for omelettes and bacon

Eating eggs every morning is tough…and many people believe they increase cholesterol, but if we’re being honest here…too much of anything will increase YOU to a bad level. So replace your usual carb-loaded breakfast with an omelette or eggs and bacon a couple times per week (yes, bacon!)

3. Make snacks with almond butter…SO good!

Almond butter is a delicious and healthier version of our beloved peanut butter. Try it with fruits or veggies for a mid-afternoon snack.

4. Have fun with your veggies

A great dinner meal is a combination of protein and vegetables. Fish, steak, chicken…we all know how to make those taste good. But nobody ever pays attention to the veggies! Since this will be your only side dish have some fun with it! Spice up those carrots, glaze those grilled onions, and roast those bell peppers…trust me it’s easy and very very worth it.

5. Stick to brown rice and potatoes

I don’t really think it’s healthy to avoid carbs all together because if you ever want some yummy pasta or bread, your body won’t be able to digest it. Soooo, if you’re going to have carbs stick to brown rice or potatoes because they are the easiest and least harmful for your body.

Let’s stay on the healthy path people!!! Are you in?

Love always,
